Starting a new family site

One relative buys the site on the family's behalf and becomes its Family Owner. Everyone else joins by invitation afterwards — they are never charged.

• You do not need an existing account. You create one during the purchase and verify your email address.
• The Family Owner decides the family name and web address, invites relatives and appoints administrators.
• Only one person needs to buy. A family only ever has one site.

Both give you exactly the same family site. They differ in how much of the setting up we do for you.

• Guided, $995 — you build the site with a step-by-step checklist, a welcome call and our help whenever you get stuck.
• White Glove, $1,495 — you send us what you have, and we load the family tree, arrange your first photographs and documents, prepare the Family Historian and hand the finished site over.
• You can choose either at checkout. Whichever you pick, your first year of Family Connect Membership is included.

• One payment today, $995 or $1,495, taken securely by Stripe. Card details never reach this site.
• There is no free trial and no monthly fee.
• Twelve months later the Family Connect Membership renews at $299 a year, charged to the same card. We email a reminder in the fortnight beforehand.
• The membership covers every relative on the site, however many you invite.

• Your private family site is created automatically, at the web address you chose.
• You are signed in as the Family Owner and your setup checklist is waiting.
• You can invite relatives straight away, or wait until the site looks the way you want.
• If anything goes wrong during setup, nothing is lost and the payment is already recorded — write to us and we finish it by hand.

• Set the family name, picture and colors so the first relatives to arrive see a finished site.
• Add your own profile first, then the closest relatives, or import a family tree from Ancestry, MyHeritage or FamilySearch.
• Send the first handful of invitations to relatives who will add their own memories.
• Talk with the Family Historian; she reads what you have gathered and asks for what is missing.
