Privacy Policy

Family Connect exists for one family. Accounts are created by invitation from a family administrator, and membership is reviewed before access is granted. This is not a public genealogy site, a social network, or a commercial directory, and it is not open to general sign-up.

• Genealogical details drawn from the family research: names, dates, and documented parent, marriage, and sibling links.
• Profile information you choose to provide: display name, introduction, biography, profession and industry, location, interests, and social or website links.
• Contact details: email address and phone number, shared only according to your own settings.
• Media you upload: headshots, photographs, documents, audio, and video artifacts, plus business logos and listings.
• Messages you send to other members, and voice notes you record.
• Optional identity verification results used only to confirm membership eligibility.

Sign-up is invitation-gated, and new members go through a membership review that may include a relative vouching for them or an identity check. Every profile has a visibility setting — visible to all family members, only to relatives you have connected with, or private to you alone — and separate switches control whether your contact email is shared and whether relatives may reach out to you.

These rules are enforced in the database itself, not merely hidden in the interface. A request for information you are not permitted to see is refused at the data layer.

Information travels over encrypted connections and is stored encrypted at rest. Uploaded photos, documents, audio, and video live in private storage that is not publicly browsable; links are issued only to members who are permitted to view the item. Content shared beyond your own account is held for review before it becomes visible to others. Administrative access is limited to the family administrators and stewards who need it, and assist sessions, in which an administrator helps a member from inside their account, are recorded for audit.

Your information is used to present the family record, suggest relatives with shared interests, support the relationship finder and family historian features, deliver messages and the notification emails you have enabled, and operate the family business directory.

We do not sell family information. We do not run advertising against it, and we do not share it with anyone outside the family record except as described below.

• Hosting, database, and file storage for the platform itself.
• Email delivery for invitations, message digests, and membership notices.
• Identity verification, used only when a membership application requires it.
• AI services used to read a resume or website you supply, to summarize interests, and to power the family historian. Material is sent only when you trigger the feature, and it is not used to train outside models.
• Map lookups for the business directory's distance search, using only the location you enter or allow.

You may edit or clear your profile at any time, change who can see it, remove media you uploaded, or ask a family administrator to delete your account and its content. Removing your account does not erase documented genealogical facts about your place in the family line, which belong to the shared record.

Accounts are for adult family members. Details about minors may appear in the genealogical record itself, and administrators keep those entries limited to names, dates, and relationships.

If this policy changes materially, members will be notified in the app. Questions about your information should go to a family administrator through the Messages page, or to Forever Spoken LLC at foreverspoken.life.
