The Family Historian is an AI guide inside Family Connect that has read a family's own tree, notes, profiles, and stories. Relatives speak with it face to face in the browser and it answers from the family's own evidence rather than from the open internet.
The historian is part of Family Connect, the private family website made by Forever Spoken LLC. It is available on every family site, including free ones, and it never has access to another family's records.
What questions can it answer?
The historian answers questions grounded in the family record: who the eldest living relative is, how two relatives are related, where a branch settled, what a particular record or document says, and which people are still missing details.
When the record does not contain the answer, the historian says so and offers to ask the relative most likely to know. It does not invent facts to fill a gap.
How does it learn about the family?
It reads the tree, member profiles, relationships, uploaded documents, transcribed recordings, and published stories on that family site. Administrators can add a knowledge library of research notes, obituaries, letters, and scanned records for it to draw on.
The historian also interviews members. It asks short, specific questions about people and events that are thin in the record, and the answers become evidence attributed to whoever gave them.
Is what it says trustworthy?
Every answer is traceable. The historian works from records held on the family's own site, and contributions it gathers are attributed to the member who provided them and reviewed by a steward before publication.
Families set how much time the historian may spend and can review its conversations. Free sites include a monthly allowance of conversational minutes; paid plans extend it.
How the historian differs from a chatbot
A general chatbot answers from the public internet and knows nothing about a particular family. The Family Historian answers only from one family's private record and is unavailable to anyone outside that family.
A genealogy search engine returns records to read. The Family Historian holds a conversation about them, remembers what it was told, and asks follow-up questions.
